- Born and raised on the Qualla Boundary of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, I have dedicated my career to History education and serving my community. I have spent the bulk of my teaching career teaching American History. Though, teaching about my culture and history has been a passion of mine for some time now. I am a multiple graduate of Appalachian State University earning my Bachelors, Masters and hopefully at the conclusion of the Spring 2021 semester, my Doctorate. I am a firm believer in teaching the truths of history, regardless of how the truth may may impact feelings. The purpose of education is to learn the truth and I would be doing my students a disservice if I taught anything but the truth.
