FAQ

How can I sign up my children for the activities?

Simple - just find an activity you like and click "Get Enrolled." If you aren't already registered as a parent you will be prompted to register. Registration is simple and quick.

What can my child expect to learn online?

Before enrolling your child for an online learning experience, review the course details. Our online courses have instructors that will be there to guide your child through lessons at their own pace, offering one-on-one assistance as needed.

How do I know if my child is ready for an online class?

Online classes that are one time in nature present little risk. Give it a try and see what those little learners enjoy! If it is a series or course, or a guided homeschool class, parents have to help children with structure to ensure they are ready and will attend scheduled classes and do the required coursework.

How is an online course different from a traditional class?

Online courses provide self-directed learning experiences from the comfort of your own home - or wherever you have an internet connection! They provide an opportunity for children to interact, live, with an instructor and other children of the same age. The biggest difference is the lack of physical presence, which is the biggest benefit as well.

What types of online classes are available for children?

Enrichment activities can be most anything you can dream up. Some of them are focused on educational, supplemental type classes such as Spanish or math. Others are simply creative projects. And some are exercise or sports based. The idea of enrichment activities is to provide your child a way to engage and learn in a flexible and fun atmosphere, separate from their normal school curriculum.

Why do you ask for my child's date of birth?

We only allow children to register for our enrichment activities if they are under 18 years of age. Once a child reaches 18 they will no longer be eligible to enroll in a class. This is the only reason we collect dates of birth.

How many students can participate in each enrichment activity?

Although Kids Connected does not mandate the number of participants per activity, as a general rule, younger participants benefit from a reduced activity size.

What does your guided homeschool program include?

We have dedicated teachers with assigned classes to get your children through a specific year's curriculum. We currently have programs for Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our teachers are focused on one thing - teaching your children. They only have one (virtual) classroom to worry about. One group of children all focused on the same curriculum for the year. Live classes will be held daily and attendance is required in order for your child to keep up with the curriculum and stay on track with the rest of the class.

We have a specific curriculum for each grade level. The curriculum can be tailored to your child's needs, but is setup with specific lessons and goals in mind. Our teachers will spend time at the beginning of each school year to assess where your child is and will continually monitor progress and adjust curriculum accordingly.

Once I am registered what do I need to get started?

As a parent - you just need a video enabled computer, a reliable internet connection, and a child that is ready to learn!

Every Activity Director must have a video capable computer or tablet and a reliable internet connection, plus a great attitude!

Does Kids Connected offer any platform other than live activities?

At the moment Kids Connected only offers live activities and a guided homeschool program that is also live. No pre-recorded classes are available.

Is Kids Connected nationwide?

Although Kids Connected is available worldwide to anyone with an internet connection, our initial reach will be mainly in the United States.
