D&D Drawing and Miniatures Painting

Description

6 WEEK CLASS. Ages 7 - 15, Meets once a week on Sunday, 11:00 - 12:00pm CST. Dates: March 7 - April 11

In this six week class we will learn drawing and painting skills by exploring our favorite D&D and Role Playing characters. The first four weeks focus on D&D character drawing. Students will come to class with a completed character sheet, and then we will spend our time together drawing their imagined game character. This is aimed at engaging their fandom beyond the game, but also in completing the 'character appearance' portion of the typical DnD character sheet with a dynamic and exciting drawing. We will consider their chosen attributes for race, class and alignment, and draw fitting poses and features as the foundations of our illustrations. Students will also consider how to use visual distinction to draw more abstract parts of their character such as: personal traits, flaws, bonds, and skills. Finally they will consider costume design and equipment to finish off a wicked drawing that will amaze every player they encounter on future quests!

For the last two weeks, students will learn how to professionally paint role playing model figures. The art of painted figurines is a wonderful craft that has attracted hobbyists and collectors from around the globe. Painting and playing with miniatures is a great way to add some realism to your live Dungeon's and Dragons games, as well as a fun hobby.
