Ballet Basics for New, Older Dancers

This is a beginning Ballet course that will build upon knowledge from the previous week, but I will meet students where they are at to be sure all students are challenged and engaged!

Ideal for students who:
-Have developed an interest in dance later in childhood
-Want to try out dance before committing to in person classes
-Have limited availability or desire to commit to in person classes
-Have an interest in theatre and need to learn dance basics
-Desire to expand cultural and artistic expression

Class Structure:
-Basic steps and terminology (new and review)
-Combination set (clean and add on OR new combinations)
-Q & A

Learners are encouraged to get up and participate in this class with the teacher, as learning of this kind works best when we involve our bodies AND our minds!

-Open space (we can be creative here)
-Sturdy table or chair to use as a barre for balance
-NO ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS (I encourage comfortable clothing).

  • Mary really enjoyed your class! She would love to work with you again if you offer a series of classes... or just to take this class again for more practice and discussion. :)
